Search and Recovery Diver

The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty program is a challenging and exciting program for you.  This program gives you the skills you need to find what has been lost underwater and how to get it to the surface.  Not only do the skills you will learn make you more capable and confident in the water, but most Search and Recovery divers eventually end up searching for and recovering something they lost themselves underwater.  Also, do good deeds by helping other divers recover what they lost underwater.

Prerequisites:

  • Be 12 years of age or older

  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water diver, Junior Advanced Open Water diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization
    or
    Be certified as a PADI Open Water diver, Junior Open Water diver and PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization

Program Structure:

1) Knowledge Development

2) Open Water Dives – 4 search and recovery training dives to be conducted over at least 2 days
- 2D2N at Pulau Dayang, Malaysia
- 2D2N at Pulau Tioman, Malaysia
- 2D2N at Pulau Tinggi, Malaysia

Diver Certification:

After you have successfully completed the program, you will receive your PADI Search and Recovery Diver specialty certification.


Note: The Search and Recovery Dive from the PADI Adventures in Diving program may be counted towards the certification requirements for this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty program.
