Professional - Divemaster

The PADI Divemaster program is recognized as the first step to becoming a dive professional as it is the first professional qualification within the PADI system of diver education.  Maybe it is because of passion in scuba diving, be it a full or part-time diving career or enhance skills and knowledge, many divers have embarked on this valuable and challenging program.

At Scuba Oasis, we acknowledged that divemasters are an invaluable teaching aid to scuba diving instructors.  Providing an environment together with this program, our divemasters and trainees will be equipped with exemplary diving skills, rescue skills, professional level knowledge of dive theory, competency as a certified assistant, dive management and supervision abilities and ethical role model behavior.  Most importantly of all, they are passionate about scuba diving and fun loving.

PADI DivemasterPrerequisites:

  • At least 18 years old

  • Completed and logged at least 20 dives

  •  PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization (defined as proof of certification beyond entry level with 20 or more logged dives documenting experience in deep diving and underwater navigation)

  • PADI Rescue diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization (defined as proof of certification in diving rescue)

  • Medical clearance for diving signed by a physician

  • Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) training (or other qualifying CPF/first aid training) within the last 24 months

Course Structure:

1) Knowledge Development
12 modules through independent study and in a classroom (including completing the knowledge reviews and final examinations)
When: Weekday evenings
Time: 6.45 PM – 10.00 PM

2) Waterskills and Stamina Exercises
4 stamina exercises, diver rescue assessment and 20 basic scuba skills to be conducted in a swimming pool/confined environment
When: Sunday
Time: 9.00 PM – 2.00 PM

3) Practical Application Modules
3 required training exercises and internship/practical training exercises

Diver Certification:

After you have successfully completed the program, you will receive your PADI Divemaster certification.  As a PADI Divemaster, you have laid the foundation to becoming a PADI Assistant Instructor – your final grooming before embarking upon the PADI Instructor Development Course ("IDC").
